VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN

Studio Abricot's graphic design approach is influenced by the "Swiss Style" which emerged in the mid-20th century. By emphasizing conceptual depth, a restrained visual aesthetic with typography as the primary focus, and a minimal use of color, the works achieve a formal clarity that draws attention to the information being conveyed. Within the realm of graphic design, the Studio concentrates primarily, but not exclusively, on projects implemented in the cultural field, with the objective of creating compelling visual solutions that effectively communicate complex ideas.
SPATIAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN

Spatial design is all about exploring the convergence of space and media as interface for communication. Its multifaceted approach leads to design outputs spanning from installations to films and performances, to objects and scenographies. Physical model building and real-scale experiments are used to test initial implementations of a project. At its core is the creation of multi-sensory experiences inviting the audience to engage with the explored subject in a meaningful and immersive way.

Across both design forms lies the necessity of engaging with the thematic material in question, which, in the case of visual and spatial design, manifests through the artifact itself. Whether a poster, an installation, a book, or a short film, the chosen medium is inseparable from the content it carries.

Thus, design explores the interpretion of material on different levels, translating content from one form into another — an approach central to Studio Abricot’s work.

By breaking down complex issues with subtlety and simplicity, its practice seeks to create critically relevant and contemporary projects, driven by the desire to generate new visions and rethink conventional approaches.
